Method and worked example

vtool = π × disc diameter (m) × tool maximum/no-load rpm ÷ 60

Diameter: disc ≤ tool accepted diameter. RPM: tool ≤ disc marking. Surface: calculated tool m/s ≤ disc marking. Depth: required ≤ manufacturer maximum. Interface strings must match.

Worked example: 125 mm at 11,000 rpm gives 71.99 m/s. 125 mm/12,250 rpm disc versus 125 mm/11,000 rpm grinder passes diameter and RPM gates. Required 35 mm versus entered maximum 33 mm fails by 2 mm.
